Eliminating False Fails in a Parking Assist Functional Test

A production line running a parking assist functional test was plagued by frequent false fails, frustrating the line manager and causing unnecessary disruptions.

In search of a solution, Vipo US was called in to evaluate the situation and improve the line’s reliability.

Our engineer conducted a thorough evaluation of both the testing line and the specifications provided by the parking assist manufacturer. It was quickly discovered that the connection hardware in use did not adhere to the manufacturer’s specified requirements. This discrepancy allowed electrical noise to infiltrate the system, leading to the persistent false failures.

With this insight, our team identified a simple yet effective solution: redesigning the interface cable to meet the proper specifications. Once implemented, the false failures were completely eliminated, restoring the line’s reliability and relieving the line manager of ongoing frustration.

This case showcases how attention to detail and proper adherence to component specifications can prevent avoidable issues and streamline production processes.
